Lyrics

So what's the plan, ah ah I just wanna understand You live in another dimension, relax 5D or something impossible to guess

Fold down, fold down for me Fold down, fold down for me Fold down, fold down for me

Am I who you're looking for? I don't even wanna ask Even if we wanted more We know it's never gonna last 'Cause when I asked you for your phone She said she wasn't cool with that You stared at me, and you took off You didn't wanna deal with that

Fold down, fold down for me Fold down, fold down for me Fold down, fold down for me Fold down, fold down for me

Behind the song

A request for a phone leads to a stare and someone taking off. There is no clear answer, just the feeling that a simple question has touched something neither side wants to deal with. Fold Down stays close to that awkward moment, where wanting to understand someone turns into wondering whether there is any room to get closer. The distance feels so strange that another dimension almost seems like the best way to explain it.

The repeated plea to fold down sounds like a wish for that distance to shrink, for something hard to reach to come within reach. But underneath it sits a harder thought: even if both sides wanted more, it would not last. That leaves the song caught between asking for closeness and already expecting it to fall apart. The question of being the right person barely gets asked, while the same small plea keeps coming back, still waiting for an answer.
