SMS Terms
These terms cover the text messages of the James Tonic tour alerts program, run by James Tonic (james.com). You join it by entering your mobile number and ticking the consent box on the Safety - The Musical page or on a show's ticket page.
What we text you
- One confirmation right after you sign up.
- One text when the countdown you signed up during ends and tickets go on sale. Each sign-up gets this one on-sale text. To hear about a later on-sale, sign up again while its countdown runs.
- Occasional tour updates from James Tonic, such as new cities or dates.
We never text you about anything else, and we never send texts on behalf of others.
How often
Message frequency varies. Usually two messages per sign-up (the confirmation and the on-sale text), plus occasional tour updates.
Cost
Msg & data rates may apply. We never charge for the messages; your mobile carrier's plan applies.
How to stop, and how to get help
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You get one last message confirming it, and then no more texts. Reply START to lift a STOP; then sign up again on the page during a countdown.
- Reply HELP for help, or email media@james.com.
Good to know
- Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can buy tickets without signing up.
- US mobile numbers only.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How your number is stored
Your number is kept in James Tonic's own database together with the record of your consent: when you signed up, the exact consent wording you agreed to and its version, the page you used, and your IP address and browser, which prove your consent. We keep it so we can send the messages you agreed to and show that you agreed. The texts are delivered through our SMS provider, which uses your number only to deliver them. If you reply STOP, your number stays on our do-not-text list so that we never text you again.
SMS Privacy
- We never sell your mobile number or any mobile information.
- Mobile information is never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Text opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except the SMS provider that delivers our texts.
- We use your number only for the James Tonic tour alerts described above.
