Hello from Mr. and Mrs. James Scott Williams! For our friends and family members, this is an opportunity to catch up with the news. For anyone who doesn't know us personally, you're welcome to browse here if you want; we've "censored" the text and photos for our privacy.
Latest news (June 2008): (gasp! yes, an update, albeit a small one) Jette is currently at Vello, working as webmaster and Marketing support; Vello provides conference call services, but instead of you and your participants having to dial in, you just click on names in a website menu, click "Call Now," and Vello's automated servers call everyone at the same time no need to remember PIN codes! No waiting for folks to dial in! You can also schedule calls in advance. And you can make instant conference calls from your mobile phone, BlackBerry or Windows Mobile up to 100 persons on a call.
Scott and I still have our consultant company JAMES.COM that provides web-related services, including website design and programming. Our most recent completed professional site is for California SIP Homes, which distributes Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and builds and remodels homes using those panels; it's a very "green" product, and has the advantages of energy savings, reduced construction time, and fire resistance and seismic strength. The design itself was by my friend Bonnie Carasso.
Williams genealogy web-site: starting with Scott's paternal great-great-great-grandparents Enoch Williams and Betsy Clanton Perkins, with some photos, at http://www.james.com/williams/enoch. Always a work in process . . . Jette works on it in her spare time.
On the following pages, you can browse through the following:
- The engagement story: how Scott and Jette met each other
- Wedding pictures from June 22, 1996
- Honeymoon pictures from California eastward to New Jersey
- More honeymoon pictures from New Jersey westward to California
- 1997 highlights featuring our trips to Oregon, Colorado, and Hawaii
- 1998 highlights including a visit to Yosemite
- 1999 highlights with short trips within California
- 2000 highlights We worked a whole bunch this year, but after four years we finally took a vacation and went to the Philippines (in the above header image, the background photo was taken from our Bohol hotel room). Our photos are online but are only available to folks who personally know us; contact us by email if you want to view them.
- 2003 highlights Well, not exactly a highlight. . .Jette had open-heart surgery, which drastically changed our travel plans and everything else in our lives. No photos; our minds were elsewhere and cameras were not a primary concern. We have only the highest praise for Dr. John Stoner (our Kaiser cardiologist), and Dr. Keith Flachsbart (cardiac surgeon). Our deepest thanks to our blood donors Barbara, Jim, and Paul.
- 2006 Jette had an unexpected trip to the emergency room in May and was diagnosed with ventricular tachycardia. Massive drugs and two rounds with those paddles didn't work, so the only route to avoid a heart attack was a last-minute ablation, with three doctors threading equipment into her heart. Thank God for our Kaiser health insurance!
- 2007 Jette enjoyed a summer trip to the Tahoe area to meet with other Jane Austen fanatics; the high altitude was hard on the heart, but it was still a fun trip. Scott continues to peddle his bicycle every chance he gets, and has become a devotee of Cal-Train and Amtrak.
Notes to New Web-Surfers:
The following pages feature several "thumbnail" size photos (2-4KB files). To see the full-size photo, just click your mouse on the thumbnail-size photo and your monitor will then display the larger image (it will take a few seconds to download, as most are 40-70KB in size). Then press the "Back" button on your browser toolbar to return to the previous page.
We've stopped listing our email addresses and updating the site with personal photos, due to spammers. Sigh. . . If you know us, you know how to find us!
