| From left to right: Senior Pastor Kevin N. Springer, groom James. Scott Williams, best man Dennis Balloy, and groomsman Ken Sharapata. Scott met Dennis and Ken in 1982 at the Valley Vineyard, and they have been best friends since. | |
| The ringbearer was Scott's nephew, Nicholas Berk (age 4), wearing a white tuxedo made by Scott's grandmother, Peggy Briese. She also made the pillow and teal cummerbund and bow tie. Gran also hemmed all seven layers of Jette's wedding dress, which Scott selected. | |
| The flower girl was Jette's niece, Sarah Wiltse (age 5), fresh from a four-day visit to Disneyland. Her dress was made by her mom, Lynn Wiltse, with help from Karen Moen. | |
| Jette was escorted by Don Galitzen. Jette met Don and Hanya at the Anaheim Vineyard Christian Fellowship where the Galitzens led a kinship group, and where they currently lead a Small Ministry Team. Jette greatly appreciates their spiritual wisdom, guidance, and friendship! | |
| Pastor Kevin Springer giving Scott and Jette "the look". We can't remember what he was warning us about, but Kevin did sign the marriage license! He and Suzanne teach the "Marriage Alive!" conference at churches throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe. | |
| After 14 years of being "just friends," Scott and Jette are finally more than friends, although Jette still asks Scott, "Do you feel married?" Scott has even stopped introducing Jette as his "girlfriend" (rather embarrassing when we registered at a hotel). | |
| The wedding party (left to right): groomsman Ken Sharapata, best man Dennis Balloy, Scott and Jette, matron of honor Lynn Wiltse, maid of honor Connie (Jette's best friend). In front: flower girl Sarah Wiltse. Not shown: ringbearer Nicholas Berk (who was tired of being in front of a camera). | |
| Our cake was made by Linda Swan of Desert Springs VCF; the flowers for the cake and church (including bouquets) were by Emma Howard. The biggest cake layer was chocolate (of course!); Linda also made carrot cake and white cake layers, all delicious. | |
| We planned on being neat while serving cake to each other, but Scott accidentally tried to feed Jette's chin. Fortunately, he missed her nose and hair. Sigh . . . | |
| Scott's family (left to right): Leo and Peggy Briese (grandparents), Tom Drew (brother-in-law) holding daughter Rose (age 1), Laura Drew (sister), Helen Miller (great-aunt in front of Laura), Barbara Briese (mom), Scott and Jette, Linda and Jim Williams (Scott's dad and his wife). In front: Nicholas Berk (nephew). Not shown: Nicholas' parents, Lynette and Jeff Berk. | |
| Jette's family (left to right): Michael Fulton (nephew, partially obscured), Becky (niece), Stephen Fulton (nephew), Lynn Wiltse (sister), Scott and Jette, Anya (niece), Winnie and Fred McCabe (aunt and uncle, in back), Cynthia Lai (aunt) with her daughter Sheila Frey and Sheila's son Kurt, Carolyn (Anya and Becky's mom). In front: Sarah Wiltse (niece). | |
| Worship was led by Bruce Perry on guitar, Debby Flannery (who also coordinated all wedding decoration and hosted the rehearsal dinner), and Debby's son Chris on keyboard. Bruce is a wonderful worship leader; he serves on the Anaheim Vineyard prison ministry team that provides chapel services to HIV-infected inmates in Chino, CA. | |
| Scott and Jette with Don and Hanya Galitzen. The Galitzens prayed for us at the "Marriage Alive!" conference in March 1996 when we began seriously discussing marriage, and also at the altar during the wedding ceremony. | |
| Scott and Jette with Kevin and Suzanne Springer. The Springers did our premarital counseling and have been invaluable with their teaching and experience on marriage. | |
| Our "friends" (sigh!) showered us with enough birdseed to feed the entire cast of Hitchcock's movie "The Birds." For days, we found birdseed in the strangest places . . . |
